My professional painting journey started over 35 years ago after I graduated from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena California in 1988. My first job after school was with a large mural company in Los Angeles. This gave me experience painting diverse projects such as creating murals in restaurants, movie studios and residential residences. I eventually went out on my own and began creating murals, illustrations and commission paintings on my own. Over the years I have been afforded many opportunities to work on diverse projects including many murals commercial and residential. Other jobs included creating faux finishes, marbling and metallic glazes on walls as well as participating in many of the “Street of Dreams” projects in King County as well as the surrounding counties.

I feel it was this variety of the creative process that formed who I am as an artist. I think of my paintings as culminations of all the work that came before. The journey is different for each piece I paint; they evolve and are unique.

My inspiration comes from nature, texture and all the color the world has to offer. I want to evoke emotion and movement in my pieces. I love the wide range of medium the creative process allows me and enjoy creating abstract paintings, small paintings, large paintings, dog portraits and book illustrations. I believe this variety of possibilities has kept my artistic fire burning all these years. I look forward to where my brush will take me next.
